Obituary of June Liddle

June Pearl Liddle, or Jennifer, 84 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. Her wish was for cremation. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 1:00pm at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee and Elmira Jane (McDonald) Liddle; her sister, Geraldine (Liddle) Main and her two brothers, George Lee and Arthur Ralph. Jennifer was born in 1934 in Terril, Iowa and graduated from Spirit Lake High School and Cedar Rapids Business College at the head of her class. She worked for KCRG TV in Cedar Rapids, Marquette University in Milwaukee and for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. She cared for and touched many on her journey through life. She was trusted, respected and loved by family and friends. She was a writer and an advocate for the disenfranchised. She worked for prison reform and was a passionate fighter of injustice. At the end she said, "I've not had an easy passage, but I've had an interesting one. At the end of the day, I like who I am. No one can ask for more." In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
