Obituary of George Garloff
George Wesley Garloff, son of Norma Louise Garloff, was born September 19, 1939, in Lake Park, Iowa. He attended Excelsior School and then worked in the construction business around the Lake Park area.
In 1959, he was married to Carol (Johnson) Rasmussen. Three children were born to this union, Allan, Ranae and Shane. George farmed his entire life in the Lake Park area until he passed away on July 26, 2013 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at seventy-three years of age. George gave others a hope of life when he became a tissue and organ donor at the time of his death.
George enjoyed fishing, gambling, stopping to visit at the local coffee shop, driving around checking the crops and the boys and running a dozer. His special passion was farming and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Allan (Wanda) Garloff of Lake Park, daughter, Ranae (Richard) Reimers of Sioux Valley, Minnesota and son, Shane (Tara) Garloff of Round Lake, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Heidi (Brian) Martens, Daniel (Emily) Garloff, Michael Reimers, Mitchel (Sara) Reimers, Roshay Reimers, Gavin Garloff and Levi Garloff; two great-grandchildren, Brock Garloff and Brooklyn Martens.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Garloff; grandparents and numerous other family members.
