" My sympathy goes out to the Wiltgen family, Nancy, and Marilyn. I have so many memories with the Wiltgen family, and with Dick. Since I was a little boy my dad thought the world of the Wiltgen family and Dick. I remember going to the house of Nancy and Dick's and playing with the kids. Dad and I, would go to the gas station and hang out with Dick. I remember the fun times at Wheels Roller rink skating with my friends from school. The memories and fun times with Dick and Marilyn learning country line dancing at Wheels Roller rink. Glenda and I remember visiting Dick and Marilyn at their new home on East Okoboji. Dick and Marilyn did a wonderful job building the home of their dreams, and enjoyed the life around the lakes. I will miss you Dick, and will always cherish all the memories of you and dad. I also want to thank the Wiltgen family for everything they have done for my parents Ronald and JoEllen Cronin". Love you all.
God Bless You All,
Michael and Glenda Cronin

My sympathy to the Wiltgen family. Whenever I think of Dick, I think of his big smile & always laughing! I'll never forget that he was a Santa that came to our house one Christmas Eve on a snowmobile! The other thing that always stands out is how he spoke of his kids with so much love!

Marilyn and family, Dick has been a blessing in our lives. He was a joy in our lives, and he was always one to be positive and enjoy life. Marilyn, you two have been in our thoughts and prayers from the beginning. You taught me (Charlie) to dance, and we attended many dances together. God give you the strength and comfort during these difficult days ahead. Your friendship was a gift from the Lord to us. We hope to be able to be a good friend to you in the days ahead as you grieve Dick's passing. Cancer did not win, Heaven gained a wonderful person. Charlie & Barbara

To My sister Marilyn & Families:
My brother-in-law Richard was known by all, as he had a way to make friends
no matter where Marilyn & Richard were. He was a good provider for Marilyn,
and a good father and step father to his children and an overwhelming love for
all his grandchildren & great grandchildren and the rest of the family.
Over the years, in Sept, Marilyn and Richard would have a family gathering for
her side & Richards side of the family. Lots of food, entertainment for all ages,
and Richard would provide music in the background too. We all enjoyed the fun.
Richard & Marilyn provided music for Spencer's Relay For Life in 2016. They did
car/truck shows around Iowa. Richard was very proud of his 1976 Dodge Warlock
Truck. If not at home you would find Richard & Marilyn at Table 316 in Spirit Lake,
dancing or teaching country line dancing. Anywhere you would go with Richard
& Marilyn they would run into someone they knew.
In 2016 of Jan, we all were devastated by the news Richard had stag 4 cancer.
We all prayed that he would be cureable.. Richard had a sense of humor all
this time.
Richard will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. You all will have a
special place in your heart for Richard. Remember the times you have shared
with him, and the memories, for I shall remember Richard.
Linda Minton.

We met Richard and Marilyn about four years ago when they were teaching line dance lessons at Table 316 in Arnolds Park. They had a very friendly atmosphere and really enjoyed giving the lessons. Everyone there was having a good time. Quite a few of the dancers are still showing up at the various dances being held around the area. Richard was very patient and very thorough when giving the lessons...We enjoyed knowing and dancing with them. Every time you saw Richard, he always seemed to be glad to see you....He will be missed. Dick and I played on the same LeMars little league team. Dick was a great pitcher and I usually played 3rd base. When we won the championship that year, George Mount took us (the team) down to the soda fountain at his drug store and we could have anything we wanted. That must have been in about 1955. Nancy Ohm and I had leading roles in "My Fair Lady" when we were seniors at Gehlen in 1965. Dick was a good guy. He will be missed!

Dick was a huge influence on the youth of Lamar's while he ran the roller rink. He would stay late with groups who wanted to play games to keep us off the streets. He talked to each of us like his own kids and gave advice or stern talks when needed. Its great to see that he continued that with his bus routes. His smile was contagious and was always ready to help. Prayers to all of the family in your loss. The communities mourn with you. RIP Dick. May you dance with the angels(which I'm sure will be a line dance). Look over us all and keep us safe until we see you again.
