Obituary of Dolores Fitzpatrick

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores Fitzpatrick, age 93, of Milford, will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, February 27th after 5:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at St. Joseph Parish Center in Milford. There will be a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 6:45pm on Monday at St. Joseph Parish Center. Dolores Marie Fitzpatrick, the daughter of Clara (Uhlenkamp) and Fred Sporrer, was born July 22, 1923 in Milford, Iowa. She graduated from Milford High School. On May 21, 1946, Dolores was united in marriage to Maurice Fitzpatrick in Milford. The couple made their home in Alton, Iowa and Knoxville, Iowa. Following Maurice's death in 1953, she returned to Milford. She worked as a bookkeeper at area farmers' cooperative elevators for several years. Dolores was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting and sewing. Dolores passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home in Spencer at ninety-three years of age. She is survived by her son, Robert (Gloria) Fitzpatrick of Milford and daughter, Cailin (Dan) Wycoff of Milford; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Earl Sporrer, Marie Wunder, Jerry (Shirley) Sporrer and sister-in-law, Beverly Sporrer. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; parents, Clara and Fred; sister, Arlene Berning; brother, Floyd Sporrer; sister-in-law, Lois Sporrer and brothers-in-law, Carl Berning and Denton Wunder.
