Obituary of Wilson Connor

Wilson (Bill) James Connor was born on August 5, 1939 on a farm near Battle Creek, Iowa, the first son of Walter and Virginia (Wilson) Connor. In 1943, the family moved to the farm owned by Virginia's parents, north of Sioux Rapids. Bill graduated from Cornell High School in 1957. In 1960, Bill began employment with North Western Bell Telephone in Spencer, Iowa where he was also a member of the National Guard for several years. Bill would continue with NW Bell until his retirement in 1990. On April 1, 1967, Bill married Nancy Rees. Their son, James Wilson, was born in 1970. He was known at the morning coffee table to be humorous, possessing strong opinions, and always a lively addition to any conversation. Bill enjoyed visits to his son and family in Milford. He was an avid life-long reader who also enjoyed target shooting and motorcycling. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his younger brother John. He is survived by his son Jim (Amy) O'Connor, and grandson Colin, brother Tom (Connie) Connor and many nieces and nephews. Bill passed quietly at his home on May 9, 2017.
