Obituary of Bob Glover
A funeral service for Bob Glover, 64, of Milford, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Union Memorial Church in Milford. Visitation will begin Thursday, July 6, 2017 after 4 p.m. at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford with the present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Robert Allen Glover was born on April 7, 1953, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the son of Allen and Evelyn (Calvert) Glover. He was raised and educated in Milford, graduating from Milford High School in 1971.
Bob attended brick laying school in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and began his life career as a mason. He worked for Mick Noteboom for several years. in 1978, Bob began work for Gus Kopsas and John Eisner.
Bob was united in marriage to Jill Rachel Martin on December 26, 1981 in Milford. The couple were blessed with three children, Andy, Nick and Brady Glover. The couple made their home in Milford until 1985, when they moved to Austin, Texas, for employment. They returned to Milford in 1989, starting Bob Glover Construction.
Bob was a member of Union Memorial Church in Milford. He was also a member of the Shrine, as well as the Masonic Lodge in Milford, where he served as Master several times.
Bob enjoyed visiting with people, gardening and playing games on his iPad. He also enjoyed boating and camping with family, traveling, fishing, grilling and playing board games with his family.
Bob fought a courageous battle with lung cancer and passed away, Thursday, June 29, 2017 at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital, surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife Jill Glover of Milford; sons, Andy (Cheri) Glover of Des Moines, Iowa, Nick Glover of Milford and Brady Glover of Milford; granddaughters, Madison Glover and Jayla Glover; siblings, Bev (Dwight) Rutter, Bonnie Glover and Barb Clark. He is also survived by sister-in-law Robyn (Steve) Lane, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Evelyn Glover, mother and father-in-law, Dr. Joe and Jeanne Martin, brother-in-law, Jack A. Clark and nephew, Jason Rutter.
