I met Kay when I took my neighbor Phyllis to the visually impaired meetings. Kay always had a beautiful smile for everyone. I actually learned a lot going to those meetings. I'm sure Kay will be missed by many. She can see perfectly now! Arlene Wimmer

We have so many great memories of this wonderful lady. We always sat close to her in church and Roger would have a silly remark for her. She always enjoyed it. Kay was very independent. I am the kind of person that will jump if someone needs help, and I tried to help her go through someone's front door for circle and she turned around and said "I am fine and I can do this"! Our most heartfelt sympathy to Kay's family. May she Rest In Peace with her beloved Basil. Hugs, Roger and Sherrie Green

Dear Beloveds of Kay, How saddened Bill and I were to hear from the Manders of her passing. But then, so many warm and joyful memories erupted in our hearts with gladness at the gift all of you were next door to Grandma and Grandpa Peterson in Spencer. You will never know the smiles and laughter with which they related the antics that went on next door of a busy bustling family-always on the move to something somewhere. How cherished you all remain to this day in our hearts. Your love for each other, the Lord, and many friends, no matter where Kay and Basil lived, was a solid foundation that never changed. Their glow blessed the lives of anyone they touched. Sad, but glad, that now dear Kay is with all who have passed before her in Glory. Sad, but glad the Petersons were lucky enough to have shared the journey for too short a time, of some stellar standards to strive for. We remain so much better for their example. Prayers to you all with much love. Patti and Bill Peterson

We just heard the news of Kay's return to the Lord she loved. We knew her and Basil during their Fort Madison years - when they retired and moved to Spencer we were all sad to see them go. We enjoy to this day the "Bread of Life" banner she donated to St. Paul Fort Madison in memory of Basil. In all the years we knew them, we will remember Basil's voice singing "Were You There?" each Good Friday and we had a ton of fun in choir with both of them. We all enjoyed your musical family when you sang together when you were here at Christmas. As you say goodbye and honor her life, we will be with you in Christian love - Sheryl and Jim Decker.

So very sorry for the loss of your mom. She was such a sweet lady and will be greatly missed. My sister Laurie was just reminiscing about working for your family at the fair cafe. Praying for peace and comfort for you for the days ahead.
