Obituary of Curtis Kuehl

Curtis Wayne Kuehl, the son of John and Hannah (Recher) Kuehl, was born June 23, 1934 in May City, Iowa. Curt was baptized on July 29, 1934 and confirmed on May 22, 1949 at St. Johns Church in May City. After graduating from high school in Excelsior in 1952, Curt was enlisted into the United States Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. On July 11, 1954, Curt was united in marriage to Anita Lundeen in May City. They made their home in Lake Park, where Curt farmed his entire life. Curt was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park since 1957, where he taught Sunday school and served on many boards. He was very interested in the Bible, enjoyed farming, bow hunting and played some golf. Curt passed away September 12, 2013 at his home in Lake Park, Iowa at seventy-nine years of age. He is survived by his wife, Anita; son, David (Vickie) Kuehl of Wright City, Missouri, daughter, Dawn (Bob) Mesner and daughter, Denise (Ken) Norris of Spirit Lake; sister, Karen (John) Dykstra, of Osage, Iowa; grandsons, Adam (Amanda) Kuehl, Andrew (Mandi) Kuehl, Shane Mesner and Joe (Tonya) Mesner; great-granddaughters, Mikayla and MaKeena. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hannah Kuehl and one brother, Marvin (Dick) Kuehl.
