Obituary of Bernice Moritz

Bernice M. Moritz was born to Carl H. and Clara (Brandt) Olson on August 8, 1931 in Cherokee County, Iowa. On January 6, 1952 she married Ivan Moritz to which one child, Gail, was born. They farmed for ten years at Dickens, Superior, Iowa. After farming, they bought and owned a resort for ten years before moving to their home on East Okoboji. Bernice worked at Berkleys for twenty-two years and managed a craft shop at the Stables for six years until they closed. Bernice passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Lakes Regional Healthcare at eighty years of age. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gail, and his wife, Linda; grandchildren Jason (Tonya) Moritz of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Dawn (Pete) Hagedorn of Dickens, Iowa, Brent (Brenda) Moritz of Jackson, Minnesota, Brad (Melissa) Moritz of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Brian (Kathy) Moritz of Rochester, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Jon, Chris, Hinda, Katie, Haylee and her finance' Roger, Hannah, Allie, Isabella, Reese, Makenzie, Trystan, Brent, Jr., Ahlya, Baylee and Kaili.; sister, Ruby Goodell of Milford, Iowa; brothers, Bob (Delane) Olson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Paul (Phyllis) Olson of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, many nieces and nephews, family, and many, many friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Clara Olsen, sister, Doris Smith; brother, Clarence Olson; husband, Ivan Moritz; great-grandson, Bryson Hagedorn.
