Obituary of Ila VonHoldt

Ila Maxine (Walker) VonHoldt was born May 8, 1921 to John Patterson and Ada Marie (Halbrook) Walker in Boone, Iowa. Ila attended school in Boone until her family moved to Lake Park, Iowa when she was seven years old. She continued her education in Lake Park and Excelsior. On April 7, 1944, Ila was united in marriage to Raymond VonHoldt in Greeville, Pennsylvania. To this union one son was born, Raymond Robert. Ila was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was a custodian for thirty-six years. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Silver Star Rebekah Lodge #431, sixty-two year member of American Legion Auxiliary #371 and Silver Lake Cemetery Society. Ila passed away August 24, 2018 at Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-seven years of age. She is survived by her son, Raymond and his wife, Alice; brother and sister-in-law, John and Eileen Walker; several nieces, nephews and friends. Ila was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; husband, Ray; three brothers, LeRoy, Robert and Harold; two sisters, Mary Robinson and Betty Ludtke. Private family services will be held at a later date.
