Obituary of Ardith Ehret

A funeral service for Ardith Ehret, age 93, of Lake Park, will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, August 27th after 4:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Lake Park. Ardith passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Lakes Regional Healthcare. Ardith Louise (Thorn) Ehret was born to James and Barbara (Main) Thorn in Excelsior township on March 4, 1925. She attended school at Excelsior and Lake Park graduating from Lake Park in 1942. On January 1, 1944 she married Glenn Ehret at George, Iowa. They became the parents of three children Lesleigh, Marty and James. They lived on the family farm east of Lake Park until 1982 when they retired and built a home in Lake Park. Ardith was a member of Lake Park Presbyterian Church and served as trustee, deacon and elder. She was elected deacon the first year women could serve. She also served offices in the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and had served as sec/treas of the local chapter for 61 years. She served as president of Senior Manor Board of Directors. Ardith and Glenn were charter members of the Lake Park Historical Society and had belonged to various other local organizations. She greatly appreciated the services she received from the Iowa Department for the Blind as well as help from family and friends. Ardith was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents and 7 brothers Roy, Virgil, Frank, Joe, Alfred, Paul and James Jr. and 4 sisters, Emma Trunnell, Edith (infant), Angeline Bates and Helen Carlberg. Survivors include Lesleigh Wiese, Marty (Deb) Ehret, James (Kathy) Ehret, six grandchildren Kristopher Louscher (Annette), Mike (Tami) Ehret, Brandon Ehret, Ben (Sara) Ehret, Tom (Stacey) Ehret and Jenna Ehret; 9 great-grandchildren, Alexandria Crooks, Kurtis, Kain and Kyle Louscher, Zach and Jocelyn Ehret, Rylan and Kelsey Ehret, Grant Ehret and Nolan Ehret; two great-great grandchildren Ariana Crooks and Adalynn Ehret expected in September. Also, nieces and nephews who were special to her.
