Obituary of Marguerite Hejtmanek

Marguerite Christina Hejtmanek was born August 15, 1917 in Clarkson, Nebraska, the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Roether) Zelenda. On June 23, 1936, Marguerite was united in marriage to Lawrence Hejtmanek in Clarkson, Nebraska. The couple lived in Aitkin, Minnesota and Rochester, Minnesota before moving to Spirit Lake in 1963. Marguerite worked in quality control at Berkley's for many years. Marguerite enjoyed cooking, reading and sewing. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Spirit Lake Schools, Pearson Art Center and Lakes Regional Healthcare. Marguerite passed away March 31, 2012 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-four years of age. She is survived by her son, Larry Hejtmanek; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hejtmanek; sister, Kathy Vlach and brother-in-law, Joe Vlach of Benson, Minnesota; nephew, Rod Vlach of Willmar, Minnesota, niece, Patti Madden of Benson, Minnesota, nephew, Joe Vlach of Benson, Minnesota and niece, Doris Nebola of Clarkson, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence and her parents, Edward and Elsie.
