A funeral service for Peggie Miller, 91, of Arnolds Park, will be held at 2 pm, Monday, January 7, 2019, at Good News Community Church in Okoboji. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be at Milford Cemetery in Milford. Peggie Katherine (Rickman) Miller was born on August 10, 1927 in Powell, Wyoming. Her family moved back to this area when she was four years old so her father could help with the rebuilding of Spencer after the big fire. She graduated from Arnolds Park School. Peggie met her husband, Robert Miller, at the Majestic Skating Rink. When Bob was home on leave form the Army Corps, they were married on October 31, 1947. To this union, two sons were born, Russell and Charles. During Rob's Air Force career, they lived in Puerto Rico and in Alaska two different times, but Arnolds Park has always been home. Three of her favorite jobs were bookkeeper at the Light and Power Company, a cook at the Arnolds Park School and a clerk at Elloween's Five and Dime. Peggy and Bob loved to travel with their fifth wheel. After Bob's death in 1988, Peggie filled her time with her hobbies. She loved doing crafts, collecting bells, tea pots and plates, reading and helping with her church. Peggy was a member of Good News Community Church. She was known as the "card lady" and loved to greet everyone at the welcome center. She was also a member of Christian Women's Club and Arpoki Women's Club.
