Obituary of Ila Powell

Illa Violet Powell was born December 20, 1913 near Graettinger, Iowa, the daughter of Carrie and Albert Thu. She graduated from the Lake Township Consolidated School. On February 2, 1933, Illa was united in marriage to Guy "Mike" Powell in Jackson, Minnesota. Illa passed away January 30, 2011 at the Ruthven Care Center in Ruthven, Iowa at ninety-seven years of age. She is survived by her son, Gene Powell and his wife, Elaine, of Terril, Iowa; grandchildren, Michael Powell of Kingman, Arizona, Jerry Powell and his wife, Sandra, of Palm Bay, Florida and Kip Powell and his wife, Deb, of Terril, Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Beth and Jacob Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her parents; a daughter, Donna; brothers, Clarence Thu and Glenden Thu; sisters, Clara Thoreson, Alice Marxen and her twin sister, Irene Powell.
