Obituary of Roger Rygh
Roger Rygh was born on January 15, 1935 and died April 1, 2011 at seventy-six years of age. He was born in Starkweather, North Dakota, the son of Martin and Ethel Rygh. Rog grew up in Roseau, Minnesota and from there he left for college at Augustana in Sioux Falls. In college he excelled in both academics and athletics. Roger served in the National Guard from 1958-1964.
He met Merrily Rygh and was smitten with love. They were united in marriage on June 6, 1964 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Roger and Merrily created five beautiful boys and raised them with love. Rog was a hard working man and put his family before himself. Rog loved his Lord and it showed. He lived, loved and rolled with life's punches.
Rog died in Merrily's arms with no regrets. His wife and boys live on carrying his memory.
He is survived by his wife, Merrily; sons, Chris, Tom, Andy, Joel and Jon. His boys are all married and there are eight grandchildren, Fred, Marty, Dakota, Lily, Noah, Will, Jasper and Savonna. His dog also remains alive barking at bad dogs.
Rog is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin Rygh and Richard Rygh.
