Obituary of Jack Helfenstine

Jack Litton Helfenstine was born June 24, 1926 in Fairfield, Iowa to William and Edith (Litton) Helfenstine. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 5, 1956, Jack was united in marriage to Vivian Lawson in Fairfield, Iowa. They resided in Spirit Lake since 1973 where they operated Sportsmans Pub for twenty-one years. He enjoyed mechanics, Church of the Round Table, making homemade horseradish and smoked fish. Jack passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Lakes Regional Healthcare at eighty-six years of age. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Kevin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian.
