Obituary of Robert Faulkner
Robert Eugene Faulkner was born March 16, 1923 at Marathon, Iowa, the son of Chester and Jennie McRunnels Faulkner. He had seven brothers and sisters who all preceded him in death.
Bob was raised and educated in Marathon. He served in the 149th Combat Engineers during World War II and was in the first wave of the Normandy Invasion on D-Day.
Bob was married to Evelyn (Rubel) for 69 years and they had four children: Connie Faulkner of Spencer, IA, Sherry (Bob) Tiede of Plano, TX, Vickie (Bill) Kane of Carroll, IA, and Bob (Deb) Faulkner of Arnolds Park, IA. In addition, he had nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Bob owned and operated Bob Faulkner Plumbing and Heating in Milford for forty-five years.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the world, spending time with his children and grandchildren, repairing all things broken, square dancing and building birdhouses.
Bob passed away Sat. July 7, 2012 at Saint Luke's Nursing Home at the age of 89.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
