Obituary of Cindy Hintz Rush
A funeral service for Cindy Hintz Rush, 61, of Milford will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic in Milford. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Parish Center.
Cindy was born in Spencer, Iowa to Paul and Phyllis Hintz on May 11, 1958 on the family farm in Milford, Iowa. Graduating from Milford High School in 1976, Cindy was an active athlete in track and field and basketball. She was a lifelong 4-H member, taking her exquisite seamstress skills to the national "Make it with Wool" competition, winning a special trip to New York.
She graduated with her four year degree from Iowa State University in 1980. Her involvement on the 4-H County Council led her to meet her husband, Marc. They were married at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa on October 4, 1980. Early in their marriage, they enjoyed many trips out West skiing with friends. She loved being outdoors, soaking up the sun, especially on a beach or on the water. She was a Master Gardner, sharing her love of everything green - particularly her lilies - with her family and friends.
Most of all, Cindy loved her family and her friends. Taking special trips with her closest girlfriends, the "Concert Girls", was something she always looked forward to. She was always happy when she had all of her family close, whether it was with her boys or family birthday parties, and especially if it was nice enough to go out on the lake.
Cindy passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at her home in West Okoboji at sixty-one years of age. Her loving spirit will always be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Marc Rush; sons, Ryan Rush and Graham Rush; mother, Phyllis Hintz; brothers, Kevin Hintz and Stacey Hintz.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Paul Hintz and her sister, Laura.
