Obituary of Dale VanKleek
Dale Leslie Van Kleek was born October 5, 1925 in Alpha, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Rose (Ross) Van Kleek. He attended Clay County country school #4 southwest of Royal. During WWII, Dale served in the Army Air Corps. He was Honorably Discharged in 1946.
In 1947, he was united in marriage to Jennie Hunt in South Dakota. Together they were blessed with a son, Timmy Dale, who later passed away in childhood. Dale lived in Chesterfield, Indiana and was a millwright for General Motors in Anderson, Indiana. He moved to Terril in 2002. Dale resided at the Ruthven Care Center as well as the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville where he received exceptional care.
He was a life-long member of the VFW as well as the American Legion. He loved his country and was very patriotic.
Dale passed away November 21, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville, Iowa at eighty-six years of age.
Dale is survived by his brothers, Duane Van Kleek (Phyllis) of Milford, Iowa and Vernon Van Kleek (Mazy) of Spencer, Iowa; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timmy Dale; brother, Bob Van Kleek; half-sister, Inez Durward; half-brothers, Ivan Whipple and Vick Whipple.
