Obituary of Maxine Grisham

Cathryn Maxine Grisham was born to Jesse and Laura (Johnson) Beeler at Cabool, Missouri on December 18, 1914. She was proud to have graduated in 1971 by attaining her G.E.D. On September 15, 1932 she married Gordon Richard Grisham at Elk Creek, Missouri where they made their home and farmed. In 1946 they moved to Cylinder and farmed for two years prior to establishing Grish's service station. They expanded the family business in 1958 with the addition of a motel. Maxine was very instrumental in the family businesses prospering. They made their home in Emmetsburg after the motel was relocated to Emmetsburg in 1968. The Grishams moved to Arnolds Park in 1994. Mrs. Grisham died Thursday, November 17th at the Milford Nursing Center where she has resided since May of this year. Maxine would have become 97 on December18th. Maxine was devoted to her family and they were the central focus of her life. She loved them dearly and treasured them deeply. Left to cherish her memory is her four children: Teresa (Gerald) Fehr of LaSelva Beach, CA, Murrill (Richard) Adams of Forest City, IA, Richard (Verla) Grisham of Mason City, IA and Max (Pam) Grisham of Arnolds Park, IA; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Survivors also include two sisters in law, Jane Pesicka of Algona, IA and Dorothy Grisham of Corsica, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in 1996, and four brothers and five sisters.
