Obituary of David Quance
David Holmes Quance, 66, of Spirit Lake died Sunday after suffering a heart attack.
Dave was born in Des Moines to Duane and Mary Ellen Quance. He graduated from Dowling High School in 1963 and married Marilyn Sharp in 1966. He and Marilyn lived in Ames and Eldora before moving to Spirit Lake in 1994. During that time, Dave worked at the State Training School, Dayco and Northern Iowa Die Casting.
Dave loved and was loved. His grin warmed the boat, the bar, the golf course and, most often, the dinner table. Today, Dave's family and friends feel tremendous gratitude along with their grief.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 45 years, Marilyn; his children, Karen Jeske (Doug) of Johnston and Christopher Quance (Renee) of Spirit Lake and three grandchildren, Delaney, Cameron and Corbin; siblings Carolyn Stuhlsatz (Al) of St. Charles, Missouri, Mike Quance (Mary) of Des Moines, Christine Carlton (Gary Edgington) of St. Charles, Iowa, Mary Beth Byrnes (Steve) of Polk City, and Teresa Quance-Bailey (Jim) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and 18 nieces and nephews.
