Obituary of Robert Stewart

Roger Duane Stewart was born February 3, 1921 in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Irvin and Maude (Hinton) Stewart. Roger served in the United States Army during WWII. On October 26, 1948, Roger was united in marriage to Lucia Adams. He farmed for several years at Jamaica, Iowa in Greene County before moving to Arnolds Park in 1954. Roger worked for the City of Arnolds Park for several years before working for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He then operated Roger's Tackle Shop for over nine years, retiring in 1976. Roger was a fifty year member of the American Legion Post and served as Post Commander of the Arnolds Park Post. He was also a member of the Milford Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing the Iowa Great Lakes. Roger passed away November 3, 2011 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at ninety years of age. Roger is survived by his son, Duane Stewart of Arnolds Park; friend, Lavonne Rohde of Arnolds Park and a few cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia; parents; brother, Irvin; sister, Mary Lee.
