Celia was a wonderful member of our church, First Lutheran. when we first joined, Celia was among the very first people to welcome us. She took me under her wings and made sure I felt right at home. She was always so kind and caring. When I was having trouble finding my way through the Bible, Celia found me a version that was easier to understand and gave it to me.She always had time to chat with me after the Sunday service and always made me feel at home and loved. We will all miss her very much.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Cecilia. I will always remember her active involvement at First Lutheran Church and her vounteerism as the Okoboji School "grandma". Cecelia was a tender and loving grandma to so many children. I can remember so many interesting conversations I had with her at school! Her unassuming presence was a beautiful example to us all. She continued to be a wonderful friend through social media all the way to the end. Sharon Hanson

Having just learned of Cecelia's passing, we grieve with you. She reached 15 years of volunteer service this year with the Foster Grandparent Program, and she loved the time she got to spend with the kids at Okoboji Elementary. "Cele" as we so fondly called her, was a mentor to other volunteers, shared her experiences at in-services, and welcomed all new faces with open arms. Her dedication was remarkable, as she drove from Spirit Lake to Rock Valley for monthly training meetings for several years.
We miss you already sweet lady...

So sorry to hear of Cecelia's passing. What a really nice person who really cared for and donated her time to many area Veterans and just loved tending to little children as a Grandma to every little child she came across. To her family, my sincere condolences.
