I knew Tim at Iowa State University. We lived on the same floor for a year. He was always so kind. I ran into him 2 or 3 times after he moved to Spirit Lake when I lived there. To his kids- your dad was a kind and wonderful man. I know there were some hardships but he endured and kept focused on his family and career.

To the family and friends of Tim Waltz: We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tim. He worked with me as part of my wildlife management team at the old Big Sioux Wildlife Unit in Spirit Lake for many years. Tim had a great love for the outdoors and was a very needed part of our local DNR staff there. We could count on him to do anything necessary for our wildlife unit's conservation work and also to in the partnership we shared with adjacent wildlife units based near Ruthven and Wallingford. I'm including a pretty touching photo I took of Tim with a Trumpter Swan being released in the mid-1990s, as part of the swan reintroduction project in northern Iowa. Our deepest thoughts and prayers to the family of Tim, who will be missed tremendously. Doug & Nina Harr
