Obituary of Tim Waltz

A Celebration of Life Service for Tim Waltz, age 58, of Spirit Lake, Iowa will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima in Portsmouth, Iowa. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00-11:00am at the church. 

Timothy Joseph Waltz, the son of Gerald and Janice (Pauley) Waltz, was born on July 22, 1964, in Harlan, Iowa. After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Biology, he worked for the Department of Natural Resources. He loved wildlife and nature, and he was an active and avid conservationist. His love of nature extended into aquatics which led him to become a dive master and instructor. He was a loving father, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend.

Tim passed peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the age of 58. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Janice Waltz. 

Tim is survived by his wife, Carol Waltz; two sisters, Cheri Mott and Colleen (Dean) Kloewer; brother, Paul (Karen) Waltz; children: Alex Waltz, Aric (Lauren) Waltz, Brandon (Kassie) Waltz, Brendan (Grace) Waltz, Catherine Waltz, Danielle Benson and Heather Webb; three grandchildren: Bowen, Hazel, and Mason; extended family and friends.
