Denny was kind and tolerant to us all of Kayla/Ryan's friends who seemed to pour in on that lake house during those boji summers. As an adult I can admire that now more than ever....not sure how many times he found me at his upstairs fridge or pausing to watch the downstairs TV, dripping wet from the lake.
Respect and sympathy to the Kasperbauers!

We want to express our deepest sympathy to the Kasperbauer family. Denny was and will always be one of our closest friends. Many of his buddies from the Canada fishing crew would agree with me when I repeat what I have said for many years. If there was one person on earth that I would choose to spend a weekend with it would be Denny. I was blessed to spend many trips with Denny and will never forget them. He always lit up the room with his wit and humor when he walked in. I echo Lori when I say that it feels odd to cry over a mans passing when he gave so much laughter and joy to others during his lifetime. In the past just to think of him would always bring a smile. But I find myself doing so now.
We love you old buddy!

Denny was one of my favorite clients at Williams & Company. He always made me laugh, so it seems odd to cry now. But I am so sorry for the loss his family and friends are feeling. May God comfort those who loved him, and may Denny rest in peace.

I remember Denny as a great family man, hard working man that had a lot of great things to show for it, and just an awesome sense of humor. I remember as a teen in the nineties getting to spend some weekends at his home in okoboji. Those were some great memories! Denny made you feel at home and part of the family during those times. I never got to see Denny around his grand kids but I'm sure it was always a site to see! Right now in heaven, I'm sure he's having a great time telling stories to my mom right now. Denny you will be missed . God bless. Bob Meiners family

I have had the good fortune to know Denny as a customer and a friend for 35 years. He was always full of fun and energy and wanted to know what was new in the industry, and how his friends around the midwest were doing. We had many life experiences in common, and were never at a loss for topics to dissect! Most of all, he talked of his kids, then grandkids. He always reminded me of the WB cartoon character the Tasmanian Devil-always moving, fast, then faster, then a gear no one else had! Rest now, buddy, well deserved, You are going to be missed.

Some people say they broke the mold with Denny. In fact, there was no mold. His lust for life was that of a Ferrari. His work ethic was pure John Deere. And he had the heart of Mother Teresa which he tried to conceal like an Oscar winning actor. And loyalty? Let's just say the Corp never produced a more loyal Marine. And no man loved his family & friends more than Denny. I'm blessed to know a better friend you could not have, period! Yes the tears will flow as we grieve the loss of this special man, but the laughter and "endless" stories will keep him with us for the remainder of our years. Boy did Denny Kasperbauer know how to live!! Each of us was lucky to be a part of his epic journey. Semper Fi my friend, Semper Fi.

Dad lovingly referred to Denny as "Laughing Boy". Denny did everything "all out" or "full speed". He loved life. I am sure Denny is in the fast lane to heaven now (and heaven has no speed limits!). I am happy that his suffering is gone but I am so sorry for the Kasperbauer family because I know what a loss this is. Denny was one of a kind.

First met Denny in 1966 - Freshman year at Kuemper HS in Carroll. He was a character in all the right ways. He and Lou Galletich frequently met in Room 207 - Denny was a free spirit. He was very much an entrepreneur and self made man. Ask his brother John about Kizgen's Pool Hall where his dad Jack had to drag him out of there. Inez can fill in the details :-) ....Denny was a free spirit and the guy was one cool dude.. God's Speed, brother!

As brother JP put it, Dad considered Denny to be like a son. I'm pretty sure if the three of us were in the water, Dad would've tossed Denny the lifejacket! Horrid disease, which we will keep fighting, but it's said for the family to have a loved one succumb to it.

All of the Greers send heartfelt condolences. We loved Denny before we even met him, because we could tell that Mom and Dad loved him. Either JP or Joel told us that Denny once offered to drive one of their cars to Spencer from Florida! Although we are truly saddened by his death, we absolutely hated his diagnosis, prognosis, and struggle with the disease. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, just as Denny was until he got his wings! Laurie Greer
