Obituary of Dennis Kasperbauer
Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Kasperbauer, 62, of Wahpeton, will be 10:30 am Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in rural Milford. Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 9, 2015, after 5 pm with the family present from 5-7 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church. There will be a Parish Scripture Service at 7 pm Tuesday.
Dennis Lee Kasperbauer, 62, of Wahpeton was born on June 9, 1952, in Jefferson, Iowa to Jack and Inez (Kanne) Kasperbauer. Dennis was raised in Carroll where he received his education, graduating from Carroll High School. After high school, he joined the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War.
On July 5, 1975, Dennis was united in marriage to Kathie Schoenherr. To this nearly 40 year union, two children were born, Kala and Ryan. They moved to Omaha where he attended the University of Nebraska and worked for Max I. Walker. Returning to Carroll, Dennis owned and operated a drycleaning business for three years. In 1980, they moved to Spencer where he was owner and general manager of A&M Laundry. He expanded this business over the next 35 years. He also served on the city council in Wahpeton.
Dennis enjoyed boating, spending time in Arizona, and making memories with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who adored him.
He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathie, of Wahpeton; daughter, Kala Berglund and her husband, Scott, of Milford; son, Ryan Kasperbauer, and his wife April of Milford; grandchildren, Tayler and Adam Berglund; and Griffin and Ella Kasperbauer. Survivors also include his mother, Inez Kasperbauer; siblings, John (Caren) Kasperbauer, Al Kasperbauer, Rick (Laurie) Kasperbauer, Joni (Gene) Brincks, and Ed Kasperbauer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Kasperbauer; nephew, Joey, Kasperbauer; father and mother-in-law, Alvy and Helene Schoenherr and sister-in-law, Lois Schoenherr.
