Obituary of Guy Jack Hugunin
Funeral services for Jack Hugunin, Jr, 95, of Arnolds Park, Iowa, will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Visitation will begin at 3 pm, with the family present from 5 - 7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery.
Guy Jackson Hugunin, Jr., the son of Elsie (Raddon) and Guy Jackson Hugunin, was born August 20, 1920 in rural Spencer, Iowa. After graduating from high school, Jack received his degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University. In 1941, Jack was enlisted into the United States Air Force. He was a career USAF Officer and pilot, retiring as Colonel after thirty years of service and two years in Saudi Arabia as a civil engineer. Jack received an Honorable Discharge in 1970.
On February 2, 1942, Jack was married to Ora Belle Boardman. Ora passed away June 15, 1996. He later married Carmen Koshiol on April 21, 2003. Jack enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, sports and sudoku puzzles.
On August 6, 2016, Jack passed away at the Hawkeye Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-five years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Hugunin; step-children, Karen and Larry Kopp, Kevin and Sherra Koshiol and Kim Koshiol; brothers-in-law, Roger Schwinghammer and James Schwinghammer; daughter-in-law, Jean Marie Marsden; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kay Hugunin; sister-in-law, Irene Hugunin; first wife, Ora Belle; son, Guy J. Hugunin, III and Kris Koshiol.
