I want to thank you for your tribute. Ed was in and out of my life too. I knew him as a friend and I am proud that he was a great father.

First time I met Ed 1977 I was 14 at the time recuperating from a automobile accident Ed had the "pleasure" of assisting in my needs I had a stick stuck on my back which Ed asked me if that was my pet which I replied "yes it's my pet stick it knows tricks" I had Ed rolling with laughter with that silly little laugh of his as well as my laugh, made each other laugh even more,Ed seemed to be in and out of my life off and on he was a tremendous positive influence on my life in my younger years it's hard to even imagine him not with his family anymore I'm truly honored to have known him and shared a huge part of our lives together from watching Raymond and Racheal when they were so very little grow up with the loving and caring traits their father always had, he is now joined with his mother and father now his Dad (Ray) cracking him up with his jokes.
To Raymond and Racheal, I'm sorry your father is no longer with us he is in a much better place now preparing for when we all can meet again and share all the greatest memories of my life.
I love you both that will NEVER end!!
God Bless

Wow...the memories of growing up so close together and all the fun that was had at The Gade homestead in Minnesota. Those were great day so of creating our own fun. Fishing bullheads from Jack Creek by Sauder's bridge and Uncle Mike right there with us. All the Gade gatherings were not without entertainment. Rest well and say hi to all the family members you have joined in heaven. Bob Gunther

Sugar Bear never met a stranger. Everyone was put at ease by his friendly, easy-going manner. His giggle was my all time favorite. Eddie's illness was eased greatly by his outlook on life and by his abiding faith. We will miss him but take comfort knowing he is with his Savior.

Eddie was one of the younger cousins so will always be "that sweet little boy" in my memories - based on his nickname I'd say he grew into a sweet man as well ! We reconnected on Facebook where he would mostly try to goad me into offering an alternative political point of view ! Gade-dom will miss him ! Cynthia Hebron Phillips

Our deepest sympathies to all of Ed's family. As a class mate at Okabena High School, I will always remember him as "Sugar Bear". He was always easy going and nice to everyone.
