Obituary of Edward Ray Gade

A burial service for Edward Gade, age 67, of Spirit Lake, Iowa will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Okabena, Minnesota. Anyone who would like to pay their respects are welcome to attend. Edward Ray Gade, the son of Raymond and Dorothy Gade was born on September 9, 1951 in Heron Lake, Minnesota. He earned a bachelor's degree for Mechanical Engineering from Southwest Minnesota State University at Marshall, Minnesota. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer until his retirement. Ed was recently reunited and married to his school classmate, Rhonda Scheppmann. Heenjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, woodworking and leather working. In 2011, Ed crossed off an item on his bucket list when he rode to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. His family was his greatest joy in life. Ed passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home in Spirit Lake, Iowa, at the age of 67. Edward is survived by his wife Rhonda Scheppmann; daughter Rachael (John) Taylor; son Ray (Kathlynn) Gade; grandchildren, Drew, Lucas, Elijah, Micah and Emma; brother, Dennis Gade; sister, Barbara Gade. Edward is preceded in death by parents Raymond and Dorothy Gade.
